December 15, 2006

Atlanta, GA. Today, EchoFX, a Macintosh software developer, announced the immediate availability of VideoGlide For Mac OS X 1.0.0 -software support for USB 2.0 video digitizing devices including the Pinnacle Dazzle DVC-90 and DVC-100, KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0, LinXcel Video Grabber, VideoHome GrabBeeX, and others.

VideoGlide supports the Empia 28xx USB 2.0 chipset. This chipset has been used in a wide-variety of devices, marketed by many different organizations, using many different brand names -and until recently, all sold exclusively to the Windows PC market. In order to build up a comprehensive list of compatible devices, EchoFX is offering the VideoGlide software free to any customer that can identify a supported product about which we were unaware.

VideoGlide is a brand new product. It is the first from EchoFX to support USB 2.0 video digitizing devices. VideoGlide For Mac OS X is fully universal. It will run natively on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh computers.

VideoGlide For Mac OS X 1.0.0 is $29.95.

VideoGlide For Mac OS X Overview
The VideoGlide software offers Mac OS X support for a wide range of devices including the Pinnacle Dazzle DVC-90 and DVC-100, KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0, LinXcel Video Grabber, VideoHome GrabBeeX, and others.

Additionally, with sufficient USB bandwidth, the VideoGlide software will allow multiple video capture devices to run simultaneously on one computer. Multiple devices can be used with Ben Bird's SecuritySpy and SubRosaSoft's HomeGuardian security packages allowing the monitoring of more than one video source. Multiple devices can also be used with video broadcast packages such as Vara Software's Wirecast, and webcam packages such as Econ Technologies' ImageCaster, allowing multiple video sources to be uploaded to the Internet from a single computer.

The included VideoGlide Capture software features hardware accelerated full-screen playback, duration-based recording and AppleScript support. External audio sources are supported via the built-in microphone port of the Macintosh, or via a separate USB microphone.
