Atlanta, GA. Today, EchoFX, a
Macintosh software developer, announced continued support for its OS X software for the
XLR8 InterView USB analog video capture device. XLR8
had been shipping the EchoFX software with XLR8 InterView 2.1 and higher since May
of this year. The upgraded software brings Mac OS X compatibility to the
InterView device as well as provides enhanced features over previous InterView
software, including higher quality video images, higher frame rates, larger
frame sizes, better sound synchronization and smaller file sizes for saved
movies.
XLR8 recently ceased business. Founded in 1998, the Norcross,
Georgia-based XLR8 Inc. had focused on the development of Macintosh processor
upgrades and peripherals. EchoFX will now provide its latest OS X software
drivers to previous XLR8 InterView 2.1customers free of charge. Additionally,
EchoFX will continue to sell its Mac OS X software upgrade for the InterView
USB video capture device via the EchoFX web site
http://www.echofx.com/. Previously, the XLR8
upgrade program required the user to send in the device for upgrade –this
requirement has been eliminated.
Chris Cooksey, EchoFX President, and former Director of Engineering for XLR8,
commented on the software, “The InterView device combined with the
InterView For Mac OS X software can be used in a variety of ways. Captured movies
can be put on a CD or a web site for viewing by anyone with a CD player or
Internet access. Or, the captured video can be used in combination with web
streaming software to create online broadcasts of live or prerecorded events.
Live video chat is possible with the appropriate software. InterView has always
been one of the most cost-effective ways of getting video onto your computer.”
